Could have been better thought out. May 18, 2018

Let me preface this review by saying that I love JessEm tools.

BUT

I received this template today in good order.  However, contrary to what someone would expect from this template; its' only purpose is to rout the inside ledge to the appropriate size and shape. Once that's done you are required to use a jig saw to cut out the large opening on your router table using the perfect ledge you just made with the template as a guide! Really?  Have you ever tried to get a perfect 3/4" radius turn through mdf with a jigsaw? If i wanted to use a jig saw to cut a perfect opening then why use a template guide in the first place?!   At that point you would only need a rabbeting bit with a pilot bearing to make the ledge & finish the job.  -- How tedious.
***A much more thought out template guide would have been sized to cut the MAIN opening of the router table perfectly with a straight pattern bit THEN use a rabbeting bit to route the ledge.  This would have been a much smarter approach.
